This digital booklet contains listening tasks for the ISE Foundation level of the ISE (paper edition) exam for exams from 1 January 2025. The ISE Foundation level has two listening task types. This booklet contains sample tasks for each task type.

Listening task 1
This is a map task. The sample tasks comprise the examiner rubric, the audio recording and associated transcript, the answer key and a blank map that can be photocopied for student use.

Listening task 2
These sample tasks comprise the examiner rubric, the audio recording and associated transcript, and the answer key.

These materials enable the teacher to deliver the task under exam conditions to individual learners or make flexible use of the audio recording and transcript as part of a class activity to develop listening skills.

The tasks have been developed using Trinity’s rigorous item development processes, including several stages of independent review by trained, expert item writers as well as a careful justice, equality, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) review to ensure that the topic is accessible to learners.
